With lamost all epics and 2k spellpower. I am now averaging around 700 dps. When I was feral, lvl 78 in blues, greens and occasional 70 epic I was around 1200. Thus the reason lvling as a healer takes so long. If you were rested the entire way and did instance runs it probably would not be so bad.

Bah! Leveling as resto (Pure resto) was easy easy pie. The reason? Instances give TONS of exp. I'd say (although I can't be 100% sure as I'm 80 again) I'd get about 1/3 to 1/2 a level's worth of exp in one instance. I never had to wait long before accepting an invitation to a new party either. Broaden your horizons as far as what it means to "level" and you'll be just fine.
Plus, with the combining of spell power and healing power into one stat, I can still burn down mobs fairly quickly. Not as quick as a boomkin or a feral, but quick enough.
Bottomline is I'm glad I stopped spending 100g a pop to spec back and forth as it just wasn't worth it anymore.
