Could be a bug, or a pally could have feared you with
Turn Undead
when you weren't looking. They can do that when you're undead. I mostly just use it as a fear break in pvp, since there's a couple nasty things people can do to undead (especially pallies).
Turn Evil is the spell you are talking about. Any paladin still using Turn Undead at level 80 (or even passed level 60 for that matter) is a twit. And Turn Evil is a fear effect, which doesn't do anything to Lichborne. The only time a DK can be feared by a pally is when they have Shadow of Death and come back as a ghoul after they die.
This is horribly incorrect. Lichborne classifies you as undead, therefore you are susceptible to thing such as Turn Evil,
Exorcism
, and
Shackle Undead.
But this is also horribly off topic. Smiley was correct in his first post; what happened to you was probably
Death Coil
, which is classified as a "horror" effect and specializes in being used on targets otherwise immune to fear. It is balanced out by its relatively long CD and short duration.

Turn Evil actually works on lichborn? Then I must be really unlucky with my TE attacks. I haven't been able to turn a single frost DK, but I get the unholy ones all the time.
As a note, akua, go look up
Howl of Terror
. See the debuff? "Fleeing in terror"? Yeah, it's a horror effect. Just like Death Coil. Which is why a lock can 3 spam fear you, and still Howl you when you get back. Fear and Horror are different mechanics, so they don't share the same diminishing returns. However, I was wrong. It does appear Turn Evil is a compulsion effect, rather than a fear. Thus it should work on Lichborne. But Intimidating Shout, Psychic Scream, and Fear are all fear effects.
So if you went for Lichborne for fear immunity, just beware the warlock. Those buggers got 2 ways to get you.
You must be unlucky because I've turned every DK I've seen with Turn Evil whilest Lichborne'd.
Again, you're horribly wrong. Howl of Terror is a fear effect, not a horror effect. Horror effects will
say "horror" in the tooltip
, not "terror". On my lock I've had it fail many a time when I tried to use on on a fear-immune mob/player.
