Lifetime Feral Druid Debating Going Resto...Please Advise...
Return to board index
I've always had my druid Feral, I like to dps, and I like to tank. I don't mind healing thoough, and I know druids are good healers. If some druids could give pros/cons and what spec they are/what they prefer and why, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Well, couple months ago, I ran around as feral druid and loved it. Had the potential to take on most classes, tank instances, gank people (keke :D) When I hit arenas, it was pretty much a sprint into a brick wall. I tried 2's and 3's with very little success. There's just too much on the druid's shoulders if your partners aren't healers. So, I decided to farm resto gear and make the switch. Healing is meh. easy mode in instances, not so much arenas. You just run for your life and stress out about keeping your team and yourself up. Just by the tone, I think you know which spec I prefer. lol mangle!
Hey, just focus on BG's and world pvp...druids=ownage. Also, I've heard that doing arena then buying the feral gear from them is one way to go as well =)
A feral druid in the WoW french community got a 2v2 2100 rating:
I think she made some PvP videos somewhere.
And don't forget the Fat Cow videos.
to do a good PvP job as feral, those guys proved it.
I was a Feral druid from way way back. Ever since the patch where they gave us all Innervate (1.4?). My main motivation at the time to go feral was because i couldn't raid and so did a lot of 5-mans and i really hated the way a bad Prot tank could ruin the whole run, not to mention make it slow. So i took matter into my own hands and became a bear tank. At the time i was universally laughed at. I joined a raiding guild (the one i am still in.. 2 years later :-P) where the GM was nice enough to let me stay feral spec even though i was healing for all the bosses. It was a nice mix to do healing DPSing and Tanking in the same raid, but it was a bit ironic that my healing gear was full epic t2 and my feral gear had about 4 epics in it. Unfortunately being able to multi-role like this kinda died with 40 man raids. Nobody would ask a feral with healing gear to heal in 25 mans.
Come TBC and ferals completely ruled PvE. All warriors had gone DPS to lvl so bears were the best (and only) tanks on a lot of servers. I loved this and tanked my way through all of Kara, Gruul, and Mag, and half of SSC.
However I started doing more and more PvP with my druid and as a feral it was a mixed bag really. In BGs, (played well) Ferals can really rule. They have it all. Stealthing, ambushing, stunning, HEALING, ranged CC, untrappable, awesome survivability. But, as we all know, playing feral in Arena is really really hard. I eventually quit raiding on my druid (switched to my warlock) and PvPed full time with my druid. It was about this time that i started to really notice how overpowered restos were in BGs, so i thought i'd give it a try.
I frequently think i'd like to be feral again, and have all the epics for it sat in my bank, but being resto in BGs and arena is really really
fun. I can recommend giving it a try at least. PvE healing on the other hand i find pretty dull.
