Page Twelve if you missed it. This is unlucky Page Thirteen: Securing the Package))
“There, about a good three hundred meters. Prepare the calvary for the first attack. If all goes well, the kidnapers will die without knowing what hit them. Once the calvary pulls out, we will go in and secure the package. Clear?” Quinn asked the other ranking Scarlet members around her as she pointed in the distance where the outlines of Tefri, Quinton, Kreel and the package Daellin were walking.
The other Crusaders around the odd and short Quinn were Ash, Trenton, and Maveryn. It seemed as if the best of the best in all of western Lordaeron were joined in one spot. Well, if one excluded the heroes in the Monastery.
“Roger that,” Trenton spoke before bursting into a coughing fit. He wrapped his elbow across his mouth, yet had to retreat a bit to save his manners.
“This must go as clean as possible people, we need Daellin alive,” Ash made clear. “Calvary, you are all clear!” The red head ordered to the five mounted crusaders on top of their fast horses. As quick as Ash ordered, the fast moving horses were off to make sure that the kidnapers were dead in their tracks.
Up ahead, Kreel heard something...fast. She turned to where she thought the noise was coming from. Behind her, coming as fast as lightning, were five horses all with men on top with bows notched with an arrow.
“Down!” Kreel yelled and sprawled against the ground. Tefri and Quinton turned and spotted what the selfish elf was talking about. They quickly sprawled as well, just before the first volley of arrows were shot. They all missed the kidnapers, yet one was able to hit Daellin’s leg squarely. The old man fell to the ground and cried out in pain. The attacking Crusaders went past the trio and Lightheart, and pulled off into two groups and came back from both flanks.
“Ah hell, F this!” Tefri roared and brought out her short sword and steel shield. Quinton, too, brought out his long bastard sword and got in his attack stance. Kreel, however, continued to quiver on the ground and shake out of fear.
When the two groups of attacking Scarlets came in for their second pass, the trio, excluding one, were ready. Tefri tossed her shield at one of the horsemen, sending him crashing to the ground and most likely breaking his back. With her short sword, she cut one of the horse’s legs, sending both beast and man to the ground. The sound of bones cracking were heard when the giant beast fell on top of the Crusader.
Quinton had the blunt of the attack group. He had no ranged power, and the three horsemen would get to him before he could kill all of them. In any case, the young man leapt at one the closet horse rider, and in mid-flight, brought his long sword through the man’s neck. The horse turned back to Quinton, even if its rider was dead.
Perfect. When the moment was right, and when another arrow was shot at Quinton’s position, the young lad jumped on top of the wild horse. He pushed the corpse off and went after the other two attackers. He made his newly acquired horse to charge one of the attackers. Just like a jousting match, the two challengers came head on to each other. However, it was all about the size of the sword in this duel, and Quinton’s was a lot larger than the Scarlet’s. The sword pierced through the attacker’s chest and sent him to the ground. Yet in all of this, the young man forgot about the last horseman. He was notching an arrow on his bow. Yet right before he could fire, he was sent to the ground by a bolt of holy light.
“Light damn it! Attack attack!” Ash yelled on the top of his lungs. He personally charged with his men when he saw that his calvary failed in every way possible. Not only were the kidnapers still alive, yet Daellin was now wounded.
A tidal wave of no less than thirty Crusaders ran head long at the trio and Daellin. Ash and Trenton made sure that their numbers would be enough to get their prize back.
Kreel slowly rose her head from the ground. The horsemen were all gone, yet were only replaced with a more daunting attack force. The elf screamed, to which brought the other two attention to the direction of the Crusaders.
“Hey guys, I am bleeding,” Daellin muttered, before seeing the onslaught coming. “As it should be,” He added.
“Sodding hell...” Tefri swore.
“What now?” Quinton asked the more experienced dwarf.
“Well, die and gain nothin’, or surrenda’ and be tortured. Ye’ pick,”
“I don’t wanna die!” Kreel squealed.
And before anyone could say anything else, the mass of Scarlet was upon them. Tefri and Quinton dropped their weapons and raised their hands up. Maybe, just maybe, they would spare their lives here and just capture them.
Ash ran to Daellin’s side. “Lightheart, are you all right?” He asked with worry.
“Yeah, damn your archers,” He replied.
Quinn slowly walked to the trio. After stepping on Kreel’s exposed back hard, and the elf cried, she asked, “I suppose you two expect to die right now, don’t yeah?” She looked them over with her scary grin. “No, I want to see that the whips hit your skins, personally,”
“And where-” Trenton coughed, “do you intend to do that?”
Ash answered for the woman, “Where the Eclipse shall begin, the Monastery,”
...
“My lord, I regret to inform you that the Scarlet Crusade has met up with the target and his friends and are taking them to the Monastery. What are your orders now?” One of the Elite Guard’s asked behind his covered mask.
“Well what do you think it is? We ask for more men and attack the Monastery itself! I mean, our beloved Queen would want this last remanent of living snuffed out, eh?” Victor snickered. With that, the Rider went off and ordered the caravan to continue into land of Tirisfal Glades. Victor sat on top of his dead steed and grinned.
“You know an all out attack on the Monastery will result in many, if not all of deaths, right Victor?” Namine asked with the hint of annoyance.
“
Undeath deaths, to be correct. And yes, I know that. Maybe I will be one of them,” Victor replied.
