Longest time you have ever spent looking for a drop

Ok...as my poor Warlock has spent the entire last week killing the entire range of mobs in the Hinterlands, with no sign of the Homing beacon drop, going from level 49 to 52 while doing so, I wonder...
what's the record for searching for a single drop, that supposedly has a 2% or higher drop rate?

almost 2 weeks, running ZF and waiting for the chief to drop the godamn sword, so i could merge it with the other and make the 2-Hander.

I mean, it took me... now this is a rough estimate... 4 months+ of Blackwing Lair runs each week for Stormrage Pauldrons to drop. Now, Chromagus drops 2 each kill. Each set-item-shoulder had a 12.5%-14% chance to drop (even though wowhead reports a 22% chance for Stormrage). 4 months ~ 20 weeks of full BWL clears. that means 40 shoulders dropped (at least, might have been more raids). Technically 5-6 Stormrage Pauldrons should have dropped (9 using WoWhead's stats). Yet, only 1 had dropped on my last run 2 weeks before TBC was released.
I definetly ran full-BWL clears more than 20 times, my whole guild and half their alts had their T2 shoulders.. So, this is just a nice-rough estimate of how unlucky people can be. In my case, a 12.5%-14% (or 22% using WoWHead's sources) drop-rate turned into a 2.5% drop rate (again, was lower IRL)

Blue Lightsabres only drop for Jedi's. Maybe you should look toward the Dark Side (ie - Chinese Farmers) to obtain your one of your own.
