It's more a question of "what is the hardest to find" (tank, then heal, then dps) rather than which of our 3 roles are we the best at.
For levelling 70-80, I'd say that it depends on the gear that you'll have when the expansion hits. I know that I'll have it largely easier to level as balance (at least let's say for the first 5 levels, untill everything will be replaced by new items) than levelling feral since i've got good gear for one and blue/green gear for the other.
Also, finding people for instances shouldn't be a problem for me since I'll be doing them mainly with my guild.
Starting from blank/blue gear, i'd say go with feral. Else, go with what you have the best gear for (and resto gear now makes decent balance gear) or what you aim for.

All I am wondering is....WHATS THE RUSH!? Everyone rushes their character to level cap. I Like to enjoy the game, understand the story line, etc. The new expansion will be more of a Gothic-Fantasy, instead of High-Fantasy. So this means it will be a nice change of pace from Burning Crusade.
I Leveled my Druid from 1-40 feral, 40-70 Balance. It wasn't quite as easy going Balance all the way to 70, but I enjoy Balance, so that's what I did.
As far as "Wasting epix" Don't worry about it! Remember when BC came out, and people were replacing their Epics with Quest Greens? The same thing is going to happen with the new expansion. You will get quest greens/blues that are simply BETTER than some of your current epics.
But in answer to your question about Needing to respec back to feral....Stay with what you want, I'm sure you will level to 80 just fine either way.
Yea, level as you want and enjoy the game. No need to sprint to the end. I'm enjoying my second ride to 70. At 62 with my druid and in no hurry to get 70. I'm enjoying all the instances and content this time.
