Hello,
I am using free play of WoW to see, if its worth to purchase new expansion.
I am used to play WOTLK back then, and when i logged into shadowlands (pre-patch) dungeons I find them quite weird.
First, I was lvl 10 healer, and grouped with players on lvl 50.
Tank had large amount of HP (don't remember correctly, about 15K HP), and my spell heals aorund 100HP.
I was shocked. How am I being able to heal him with such weak heal.
So I thought, he will run through all dungeon and dont break a sweat (like in WOTLK, if lvl 80 join low-lvl dungeon). But no. He took a lot of DMG durring each fight, so I spam my heal button, and expect him to die, but he didint. How so?
Second, if mobs does this much DMG on lvl 50 tank, they should one-shoot me, but no. I was able to survive several seconds, until tank take aggro on them. How so?
Is there implemented some scalling mechanic, or how is this possible?
Tank shouldnt take this much DMG, and if so, my heals has to got none effect on him, and I should be dead in first hit.
Can someone explain this to me, pls?

There are multiple different scaling mechanics introduced into Open World and Dungeons to allow much easier access to content when friends are not near the same level.
As for is Shadow Lands for you, thats a hard ask man. Everybody has different needs, expectations in a game. I personally am enjoying SL and look forward to the gold release.
Best of luck to you.
