Depends, are you making the character primarily for PvP or PvE? And try not to worry too much about money. So long as you aren't doing the 19-level twink bracket thing, just doing quests should provide all the cash you'll need to get started. I've leveled from 1-70 on 4 different servers and it's never been a big problem. Just auction everything and never buy anything off the AH unless it's absolutely godly and dirt cheap.

If you are really worried about gold, you can pick up a gathering profession. Mining is the best followed by Herbalism for easy money.
