EditMacro works fine, it seems that the text in the macro frame however won't update until you reopen it... That frustrated me for about 30 minutes.
Ah yes you might be right - I think I was testing out the restoring of the templates in my add-on when I came across the issue - so I wasn't seeing it being updated in the editor (as the way to check it)...
It seems the macro text is parsed line by line. As one is executed the rest of the macro is parsed from the final character's position on. Does that make sense?
Your explanation makes sense - but from an optimisation perspective I wouldn't have thought it makes sense... but I don't know the internal workings of it.
Except that it can't be done in combat... (so it's use would be limited) - it actually would give the possibility to stop macros via script conditions... by testing and then inserting a stopmacro in the next line... e.g. don't buff someone if they already have the buff...
