Mage with a drinking problem!

So I started a mage the other day, I'm level 16 now and my question is: Does questing on a mage get any less tedious at any point? I've previously leveled a mage to 28 and deleted it at some point, primarily because all the mana breaks got annoying. I'm currently leveling as frost (
this
is how I've placed my talent points, if it makes a difference) even though I heard it's better to go Fire until 30. I just like Frostbite and survivability in general.
Mage is a really cool class to play, it's just all the drinking. I just want to know if at any time I get to a point where I don't actually need to drink after every fourth mob, or any pointers I could use? Just about anything to have me drink less. Or at least a thought of hope that there will be a better time. :)
Edit: Also wth is up with the drinks we mages conjure? Today when I turned 15 there's absolutely no point in making any more drinks ... I remember on my level 28 mage my conjured drinks wouldn't even bring me over 50% mana!
PS. Sorry for my weird wording, I'm a bit tired and can't form lines properly.

when i was leveling my mage, i had to drink every few kills until about level 40, then it became much more efficient
mages have a problem withmana for quite a few levels but it gets better

We hemorrhage mana, there's no other way to put it. There's no real way to avoid drinking, you're going to do a lot of it. The best thing you can do if you want to level faster is stack any and all the damage gear you can get your hands on. Even the smallest amount will make a difference an point per-point is worth more then gear with int/spi or stam on it.

All right, thanks guys, you gave me hope. :D Maybe I'll live through it! Level 18 now and still going strong. Using wand to finish mobs and not spamming AE trying to do so is actually helpful. Same goes with Fireblast.

Word of advice..Practice using Nova/Blink/Blizzard. Exp. comes easier the better you are at this.

Frost is very mana efficient, with Mage Armor on (30% mana regen while casting) I rarely drink at lvl 62, as I use Evocation to get my mana back. The only cases in which I drink are when I'm casting a lot, and Evocation is still on cooldown, but that only happens every 5 minutes, and is not a common scenario, since grinding doesn't tend to be non-stop. And as it has been mentioned, Nova, Icy Veins (or Ice Barrier, which helps even more if you have Shattered Barrier) and Blizzard can help you clear huge groups of mobs. Frost won't be that effective until you get Shatter, though.
