"Back on topic of pawning stuff," Jonas said. "I suppose another option for cash is the traditional bread winning of quests."

"If we can find a questgiver offering tea and biscuits in exchange for code, I'm all go", Stitch suggested. "But I sort of feel that programmers aren't among the most employable people around here."

"So where are we going again?" Eduard asked the group in general in the sort of manner implying he hadn't really been paying attention for the last five to ten minutes.

JJ studied the other pieces of his armour. The gauntlet had no decorations on it and seemed perfectly normal and functional piece of gear in all respects. The helmet was also rather void of any decorations except that the faceguard was shaped like a pallid mask.
"
Hmm, did they give up the chase so easily? Why? If they are so afraid of me causing the dimension to collapse, then why would they not try to get rid of me as they planned?
", he thought.
Sigh
- "If you don't mind, I think I need to take a short nap", JJ said to Alistair. "It might help me wake up from this nightmare... Hallucination.... Thing."
JJ set down the helmet and sat down, his back against a wall.

"But of course, and feel free to use the bed," Alistair replied graciously, without turning around. He was far too busy studying the contents of the wardrobe; there was no traveling bag in sight, so he had to get it right on the first try.
He was fortunate that there was no armor for him to try. Without it in his immediate reach, it was easier for him to remind himself that, as cool as he might have looked in a full suit of plate armor, preferably engraved with runes and augmented with spikes, he was a wimp, and a clumsy one, at that. He was not used to its weight, it would hinder his movements, and in an actual close combat would probably do more harm than good.
Robes - as in, actual ornate robes - were not an option, either. Not least because Mercer was not capable of raining arcane destruction on his enemies, for one, although there was also the small detail of walking around in a skirt. He did not think he was quite that ready to immerse himself in this dreamscape.
So how exactly was he to blend into the environment? He had to look formidable - not threatening, not at all, heavens forbid, but respectful. Dignified. Someone not easily dismissed, someone worth speaking to. Now who could that be?
Think, Mercer. You are standing in a guest room, and it is quite posh. Who are the guests of Karazhan?
Then he remembered. Moroes and his adds, the Nobles of Darkshire.
"Money, money, money," Alistair murmured as he shuffled through the shelves. An ensemble was coming together in his mind, and it was now only the matter of finding the right components.
Soon enough he was done, now that he knew just what he was looking for. Without further ado, he stripped down to his undergarments. He refused to take off the slim white gold ring that was his wedding band, and his silver Orthodox Christian crucifixion remained hanging on a cord around his neck. Mercer surveyed his choices critically one last time, then carefully folded his home clothes into an empty shelf seemingly waiting for him to do just that and began dressing.
Alistair decided to go with a simple trousers-shirt-vest combination. To that end, he picked up: a pair of black slacks with a leather belt, elegant in their simplicity; a white dress shirt with a laced-up V-shaped opening and the sleeves fuller at the bottom than the top and gathered into cuffs, decorated with large frills on the front and on the cuffs; a black vest with three metallic buttons, chosen to match the frills of the shirt. The pants and the vest felt like fine wool to the touch, and the shirt like silk, but, in truth, Mercer had no way of knowing what were the actual materials used.
For his feet, he selected a pair or knee-high riding boots of black leather lined with fur with folded over cuffs. Alistair found the footwear fitting quite comfortably - much like the rest of the clothes, it seemed tailor-fit exclusively for him. Then again, this was his dream and his room, so it all added up.
He almost put on a red cravat before remembering that anyone wearing red around their neck in this world would probably be shot on sight on account of association with the Defias brotherhood. After much consideration, Mercer selected a necktie of deep, rich dark teal that felt like cashmere. Tying it properly was quite a challenge, especially combined with the lacing of the shirt, but he persevered. He thought about picking up a sash or a cummerbund to match the necktie and decided against it.
Finally, Mercer pulled on a pair of elbow-length gloves made of something resembling black suede and, much like the boots, with the cuffs folded over, and turned around to face JJ.

- "No thank you, this is fine right here", JJ mumbled just before his head slumpped against his chest.
By the time Alistair was done choosing his clothes, he was already fast asleep, letting out quiet grunts and snores every now and again.

"What he said," Zero jabbed a thumb at Hollum, having slowed his pace enough after his brief tantrum to let the rest of the group catch up. He spied the corridor the company of mages were currently walking down and squinted at the scenery. The ornate warm colors of the library had abruptly become colder. "Looks like we're on the right track out of here."

Des nodded. "Right, right..." He stepped back, spinning on his heels and struggling to not drop the books held open in his arms. "Uh... just upstairs... I've got it set up." He said, ascending to the upper floor.
"I haven't seen any glowing exclamation points since we've gotten here." Logan countered.

"Then we'll have to ask around or something. Adventurer is literally a profession here. I'm sure we'll be able to find someone with something that needs doing. This is Azeroth! You can't walk five minutes without finding something that needs killing. Jaguars drop shoes. Only some bears have pelts. And if we can't, then we'll starve. Or we'll go looking for that draenei woman.
"Not *!@#ting over your idea," Jonas quickly added. "I am all about pawning my math textbook. Just saying that killing troggs is also a viable money making scheme."

"Khaah?" Mercer sputtered at the sight of Dansha. His mind very decisively and in no uncertain tone told him that he had no recollections of the woman. Zilch. None at all. On pure instinct he frantically backtracked away from the dwarf; quite predictably, the small of his back and one of the shelves collided - which was somewhat painful.
He had the time to wince and think that there was something deeply wrong about the dream, he was not supposed to feel pain, before the huge wardrobe groaned and shook precariously. The massive double doors swung closed - at least, attempted to. Mercer barely managed to raise his arms protectively in front of himself, whereupon the doors hit his elbows.
"Nrghm!" Mercer growled in pain, an exemplar of eloquent speech.

So, that's what a female dwarf looks like. Mercer idly noted some interesting curves while he regained his composure.
"Miss," he said with careful deliberation. The woman had, after all, lifted a man larger than himself, and wearing all that clunky armor, without too much effort, so he had to stop and think, before he did something stupid. "You are not doing my guest any favors. For heaven's sake, he's hungover. I must insist you put him down and let him rest."

Zero impatiently hurried forward, passing all sorts of wondrous, bizarre, and spooky sights in an attempt to navigate the ever shifting labyrinth that had started as just a hallway.
By the time the company of mages neared some sense of exhaustion, the finely furnished and well put together (albeit dusty) tower had been worn down. Cracks in the stonework, obvious rotting in the wood. The corridors were filled with nothing but the echoes of footsteps and breathing. But, it did look familiar, resembling the stonework of the Servant's Quarters near the entrance hall.

"Well, I'm just saying. We're a little under-equipped for killing Troggs." Logan stated.
Des crossed the upstairs lab, comming to a table loaded with varying equipment. "So, first off, we should try to learn what it is." He commented, pulling a device forth that seemed to ressemble a high-powered microscope.
Pulling forth a strange looking swab, he turned to Amber. "This should be able to snag a sample."
