Mind Spike's stacking MB crit bonus

Mind Spike also increases the critical strike chance of your next Mind Blast on the target by 30%. Stacks up to 3 times.
Has anyone else noticed that 3 stacks of the Mind Spike debuff doesn't give me anywhere near a 90% crit chance for Mind Blast? Especially considering with the wording in the tooltip, I'd expect it to do 90% *plus* my normal crit chance which would make it crit 100% of the time.
I made sure to only use MSx3 MB while doing my TB dalies today, and afterwords Recount only listed 60% of MBs as crits.
The only thing I can think of is if you cast MB too fast after the 3rd Spike, it only counts as 2 (even though it wipes all of the debuffs off). Any else encounter this?

1) My one point was that it *shouldn't* be rng if the crit bonus stacks with your normal crit like the tooltip implies (my crit chance would be 100%).
2) I'm not talking about a few MBs here, my stats were gathered over an entire day. This is a consistent problem that I've noticed over a long period of time (when I wasn't actively tracking it with recount I would guess that MB would crit ~50-75% of the time). It is virtually statically impossible for this to be just rng (If you need to test it for yourself without using probability theory/degree of certainty formulas, run recount for a day and compare your actual crit % of each spell to your character's crit %. They will be very close).
I also rely on Paralysis in PvP, which is why this is so frustrating.

Probably the reason. I'm not playing my priest currently but I had the same issue every now and then and got into the habit of delaying the MB either one GCD of something else or just pause a split second after the third spike.
