Also get +5 mining on your gloves then at 295 you have the option to go mine fel iron in the outlands. Though thorium usually sells for way more

I would also recommend ungoro, patrol around the borders and you'll find lots of small thorium veins. Fire plume ridge and terrordale (i think it's called that) both have a guaranteed rich thorium vein.

For skillups I like ungoro a bit more than silithus because you don't have to tip toe around bugs and can mount up between ores.

Thorium can be found in Ungoro, the Searing Gorge (Dark Iron will also level you up), Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus.

The idea of of getting the +5 enchant on the gloves is interesting, provided you are the right level to go farm Fel Iron in Hellfire Peninsula. There's tons of Fel Iron there and you can level up very quickly.
