You might need 2 computers. I didn't think WoW was able to open twice on one computer.

On a mac simply find your WoW application, then right click (I think shift click if you don't have a 2 button mouse) then click copy
After it copies (this should take awhile) put WoW in windowed mode, open up WoW from the original file, then double click on the copied version to open up a second window

Buy a friend. Multi-boxing is akin to masturbation: It's a nice short-term solution but ultimately leaves you lonely. :P

You can run wow on the same computer without copying the wow folder as many time as you want... as long your PC support it.
To run two or more instances of wow you need a good hardware spec.

On a mac.
Open system preferences
under System>Accounts, Create Two login names for your computer (one your current one, the other a new one).
Open login Options and enable Fast user switching
open wow and log onto your main.
Then, use the fast user switch (top right corner icon) and log into the other name, open wow again and log into your other toon.
/follow your main, Switch back to your main and enjoy. you will need to switch back and fourth often so its easier if both user names doesn't have a PW, that is if your not worried about security. I also recommend turning your setting AAALL the way down if your hardware isn't totally awesome, at least for the alt account if not both.
