Good episode. I absolutely freaking lost it when Mr. Cake explained how the twins were a unicorn & a pegasus.
Loved the hrror sequence, too.
I am surprised at how fast the twins have developed, though. Pound, only a month old, is better at flying than Scootaloo, and Pumpkin has already mastered telekinesis, levitation, and some kind of permeability spell.
They're freakin' child prodigies.

Not really. Remember how Twi and Rarity explained that the unicorn would go through some weird magical outbursts as she got older? Surprised me that they were so controlled, not that they happened. The same could probably go for Pound and his wings, the flying being similar to teething for most animals. They'll likely both grow out of it and regress a little before their abilities start to develop again. That or Scootaloo is just a weak flyer/chooses not to fly. Like Fluttershy, she seems to prefer staying on the ground, as we've never once seen him in Cloudsdale (even thought he likely has family that could have transported him up there).

Did you call Scootaloo a 'he'? :P And judging by her worship of Rainbow Dash, I don't think she doesn't want to fly. Besides, Faust has already said that Scootaloo's not quite developed enough/hasn't quite mastered how to fly yet.

I was kind of like - Fluttershy's element is oviously healing, but Rarity's a unicorn so more likely to do real magic. T'is confusing.

I... I have never so throughoughly enjoyed watching something in all my life! The episode opened well enough, but it was only after the intro that things picked up fantasticly! I can only explain it all in bullet points:
- Derpy is cannon. Name and all.
- Mayor wants money.
- Pinkie Pie is still best pony.
- Cherry conveyer belt scene is best conveyer belt scene.
- Pinkie Pie torture is best torture
- Pinkie Pie = Deadpool. No exceptions (
Chimmicherry/Cherrychanga
!)
- Don't break a Pinkie Pie Promise. Break a Pinkie Pie Promise and she will mess you up.
- Applejack is element of honesty, but can still tell half-truths. You know, like the Devil.
- The shows creators clearly read the fadom's ideas.
Occasionally I have my moments where I think to myself "why, why do I watch this? Why do I love it? It's hilarious and adorable, yes, but is it really all that?" some episodes do not change this, some episodes make me think this. And then there is this type of episode.
The type of episode that makes me slap myself in the face with a fish for ever thinking those kinds of thoughts.

Rarity is best pony, you uncouth ruffian. This episode was great though, and Derpy made me lol (and Fluttershy with the bunny; also, when did she get so athletic?) She manages to outspeed Dash in the pilot, and now keeps a running pace with her too? Huh.

That struck me as odd too, but I think I figured a solution: she's a pegasi. And pegasi by their nature are really quick and agile. Now, Fluttershy's personality is timid and meek, especially when you compare her to the rest of the pegasi we've seen thus far. This plus the fact she only gets these weird bursts of speed when she get really motivated (Pilot: Stop Discord, Episode 14: Get her friend to come home) I reasoned that she is psyically able to do all of these feats of speed but keeps herself from them. Why? Because she might startle the animals otherwise.
