Great episode, but I would rather smash myself in the face with a sledge hammer than see the Twilight alicorn thing happen :/

Win.
That's either a REALLY good impression of John de Lancie, or he's even more aswesome than I first realized.
Apparently, that IS John de Lancie.
As I said on the video:
Awesome. Pure, unrefined, awesome.

Discord was certainly not reformed in the latest episode. I smell another trick up his sleeve for Celestia.
In b4 he shows up in the finale.

I hate to bring up such an old discussion, but here I go:
So after having some time to process the character a little more and take in other people's opinions on him, what is everyone's final verdict on King Sombra?
Personally, despite that he didn't do as much as the previous villains he definately had more pressence and more power and was a much bigger threat. Whereas Nightmare Moon just tried to stop the ponies and Discord just actively turned everything upside down, King Sombra ACTUALLY managed to be truely evil and do truely evil things.
Firstly we have the flashback sequence showing the crrrrystal (that is intentional, btw XD) ponies in chains as slaves, something that is pretty damn dark for a kid show, in my opinion. Also we have how altogether deadly Sombra's effect on the world was, whereas Discord had a humor to him when he recreates the world as he sees fit, Sombra's infestation-like corruption of the crystal world around him has no such humor and that makes it all the more terrifying and evil. He TRUELY had evil intention and wasn't just "doing it for the laughs."
To me, he was something of a "if Sauron had gotten the Ring"-like scenario, spreading a evil corruption and, in a fashion that truely ties it to the analogy, eventually regaining his physical form through the use of his magic.
So, for me, final verdict: King Sombra, 8.5/10 on the evil (only held back by the studio not giving more screen time, but let's not start up on that).
Does anyone else have opinions?

I didn't get any of those impressions tbh. Having his presence felt is a poor substitute for the villain having actual screen time. When a villain has a strong presence, its supposed to lead up to some kind of confrontation with the villain himself, Sombra just kind of fizzled out in the end. And as far as power goes, he was the least powerful villain we've seen so far. It all just seemed so unnecessary when the princesses could just turn him into smoke, and the whole ordeal being just a test for Twilight seemed like a cop out.

Well guys, I never thought I'd say it, but with the "Princess Coronation" finale and
this
, I'm starting to believe that they're really gonna do it.
Not gonna give up hope yet though.

You keep saying it like it's a BAD thing. Will it be jumping the shark? Possibly, it'll be a bit strange but I'm sure that it'll still be interesting to watch. Will it ruin the show? No, in fact it may make it all the better by throwing in new episode possibilities!

I still don't see what the big deal is.
But I feel this video is appropriate.

On the plus side, it should help eliminate some of the
No Hero Discount
and
Dude, Where's My Respect?
problems the Mane 6 have been having. Like when they save the world twice but Fluttershy can't get a freaking cherry, or when Rainbow Dash saves Spitfire's life, spends a day hanging out with her, saves Soren's pie, organizes the Cloudsdale waterspout, but still get made wingpony after saving the world
four
times.
While Twilicorn won't solve all of those problems, I'm positive at least she'll get some respect. Plus, she'll be the first princess to live in Ponyville, which would help the town as a whole.

News travels slowly outside of Canterlot.
And I've heard that it might just be part of a "switching destinies" subplot for the coronation episode. With another theory I've heard about Candance/Shining Armor having a baby, I'm thinking Twi might get her destiny switched with the kid (at least until the resolution, of course). How that plays out will remain to be seen.

So apparently hasbro is making a MLP tv movie, and a new MLP IP that will be targeted at teenage girls:

Thoughts? I'm interested in the movie, tho I'm not sure how I feel about a teenage girl version of MLP.....I'm choosing to remain cautiously optimistic as long as the FiM team is used for both.

The idea of human ponies always makes me cringe in fear. This version is no different.
