Theres also a talent in the ele tree that gives your fire nova totem a 50/100% chance to stun for 2 seconds,
not sure if that would help much but im in the same boat as you, lvl 75 atm but aiming to pvp as ele, also unsure on escape tacs

Im not an expert but this always works for me.
Glyph for stoneclaw totem and use it a lot. Use hex for harder to kill people (usually dks, warriors, or ret pallies for me)
Try not to be focused on, stay back in the group and dont charge into the fray. If you do get focused get away. Thunderstorm is really situational and can't be relied on, so dont expect it to be much help. You should mainly use the Earthbind rooting and GW to get away, if its a fight that your staying in (cause sometimes its just smarter to run away) then use your quicker casts, Chain Lightning a lot and Lava Burst a lot. Fire Nova totem helps a lot too. And Frost Shock if they get outta range of Earthbind. Just try to kite them around and pew pew on them.
Against a caster just try to ground his bigger spells and dont get counterspelled =P
Also try to keep up Flameshock, it has a lot of functions but two of my favorites are auto crit lava burst and
Lava Flows
, it may not last long but its like a mini heroism, and can really put some pressure on someone.
Also as a Ele shaman your a burst dps, so you should be doing a lot of damage quick, so look for times when that could help, such as a quick finish on someone or pressure a healer so he cant help those around him.
Also there is not rotation, just cast cast cast! Your quicker spells have higher priority but other than that just kill them before they kill you. And you will really notice a difference when you get resilience, you live a lot longer.

how are elemental shamans in pvp?
Decent, not remarkable. I find it fun but that's all about preference. :)

They have 3 casting spells, two of them take 1.5 seconds to cast and the other takes 2 seconds to cast, and that's before you factor in haste. So they are pretty fast casters.
And once you pop Heroism they can go to almost 1 second cast.

My ele shaman is almost 80 as well. I was wondering about how much spell pen I should be shooting for as I'm gearing up.
