Hi. I need help finding the title, writer, or artist of an old comic magazine later turned into a graphic novel (like elfquest). The covers i remember are 1. a girl only in a loin cloth standing next to a giant gorilla 2. a woman with a half black/white face. The point of the story was that he came from earth and landed on this planet to become king the women ware leather and tend to only ware loincloths (old story so far) but it turns out that the wizards are scientist/androids they have a iron ring(<--title?) in space.
(cover 1 comic story) when they kidnap the kings child he had to go up the their iron ring to get him back while there the group was gassed and when he woke up there was a girl with him she was against the scientist and had a pet gorilla they were shot at by arrows and killed most of them the wizard with them got the child back for them but it turns out the kid was faked so she decided to raise it like the real one to keep them from using it as a pawn against the kingdom
(cover 2 comic/graphic novel story) not sure about it but i do know that it had the child grown up
I believe it was based in either Alabama or Arkansas i met the creator at mid-south con (Memphis, tn) march 1994. and it was already in graphic novel form. and i remember seeing it at walden book store.
please help me figure this out i really enjoyed the story idea but i don't remember much about it now:(
thanks in advance

I wish I could've been wasted when I read that.

Sounds like it could be one of the
John Carter of Mars
adaptations. Or maybe an
Almuric
adaptation.
