Need help with low level instances

hi since this is my first post i would like to say hi to all wowhead users and i wish everybody a happy playing time.

now for my question , i was in an instance today SFK to be particular im lvl 20 warlock and had 21 hunter 24 hunter and 25 warrior with me in the team , had damage meter running and i was the last on the damage meter and the lvl 21 hunter had nearly double my damage done. my technique was to DOT all mobs with CoA and Corruption and then use my wand to damage while trying to keep the DOTs up ,, can anyone help me with increasing my damage done or do i just need to train on what im doing, and i was using imp as my pet.

dont worry about it too much, affliction specs, especially at low levels will do terrible damage on trash as the mobs will be dead in a few seconds before your dots do much.

You should only use your wand if your trying to conserve mana, try using drain life and drain soul when mobs are less than 25% health.

thanks guys for the help,, so i had the right idea all along although i wasn't using SB :)
