I recently picked up the Netherblade Facemask. But I have a question about it.
Normally, I use a +24 AP +movement speed meta gem, but according to the sticky, +12 AGI +3% crit damage is 'better.' Here's the thing: You have to socket two blue/purple/green gems for it to work. Red gems aren't that much of a problem if I utilize the socket bonuses properly, and everything else I have uses +8 HR gems. Is it worth it over +24 AP meta gem?
And.. a less general question. What should I socket it with in both cases? In the case of a +24 AP meta gem, I was considering a +4 AGI +4 HR gem.
Thanks for any feedback.
The relentless earthstorm diamond is worth it.
You need two red, two yellow and two blue gems for it to function. Assuming you're a deep combat spec that would mean at least two rigid dawnstones, two glinting noble topaz and two shifting nightseye.
If you plan on hanging onto the facemask for a while then I'd suggest a
bold ornate ruby
for its red socket (which would also meet one of the meta gem's red requirements).
Ok, so I think I've mentioned enough on these boards that I just reactivated my account for the first time since pre-TBC. I know nothing about socketing, this is all foreign to me, so is there a place that has sort of a comprehensive breakdown of what it is and how it works and so forth? I haven't checked out the main forums or WoW's site in general since the are blocked at work =S. But are there any other places that you can recommend to get me up to speed?
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Here is what I'm going for (Yes it's a raiding build. Yes, I know I have riposte.):
What about the 2nd gem for the helm? Should I go for the socket bonus with the +4 HR +4 AGI, or is +8 HR worth more?
