If you're intending to use a Horde to make a item for an Alliance real cheap to sell on for more don't. You can't buy your own auctions. Unless you have a friend buying it for you.
This in theory would still work, because you can't have Horde and Alliance toons on the same server, on the same account...
If you were doing it for yourself, then in theory you would have to have two accounts, so would not technically be buying your own auction...
On a PvE realm, you can have horde and alliance on the same account.
I can 2nd that, I've created acouple Horde and Ally characters on my 1 account...
