1- Enhance is usually the best way for leveling 1-58, only due to gearing pre-bc. Even with water shield at lvl 20 now, you just can't match the speed enhance will bring in the early levels.

2- Things are slowly going away from "rotation" type strats. Its now turning into a "keep certain things up in order of priority". For Elemental, that would be flameshock (with glyphs/talents) mostly for the 100% crit on your lavabursts, which will proc Elemental Oath, and all the other proc buffs to boost your DPS and Mana-conservation. Aside from that, keep your totem of wrath up at all times to help not only you, but your fellow casters. Enhancement, stormstrike when its off cooldown, followed by lavalash and a earthstrike, stack 5 maelstrom and pop a lightning bolt, chain lightning or heal for free. Soloing, pop your puppies for added dps, heal over time, speed buff. Resto... its been a while since Ive played resto, but its basically keep your totems up (which goes for all specs of shamans)..and resto really depends on if your going for a MT healer or group healer. MT use the awsomeness of LHW, group healers love CH... its a matter of preference.

3- As I said in #1 Enhancement shaman are fairly fast, even moreso when you hit 40 and can dual-wield. Due to poor backwards planning on gear pre-outlands on Blizzs part, enhance is your best bet to fly through till outlands. There, elemental picks up nicely and turns into a matter of choice. Both really fly through in outlands. Resto has unmatched survivability... which makes up for the horrendous killing speed.

4- every spec can be fun, in its element (no pun intended).. I like to play elemental and turn into a lightning bolt machine gun. Some like grabbing two big glowing maces/hammers/fists and watch mini-tornados and numbers fly by on their screen. Resto can be a fun healer to play, and as a former priest you may find its healing style a bit easier to handle than your used to. Any class/spec can be fun, as long as its doing what it is you want to be doing to have fun.
