The following Macro is like the old Uber Pet Macro but improved. When used it will automatically revive your pet. If your pet isn't dead it will summon it. If it is already summoned then it will cast Misdirection while commanding your pet to attack your target and casting mend pet. Then if you hold shift it will command your pet to follow you making it stop attacking to pull the target closer or to stop attacking so you can leave combat. It will also command your pet to Fetch if you are not in combat when you hold shift. Finally if you pet is dead but has been un-summoned, which oddly enough happens more than you would expect, then the doesn't work as you don't have an active pet. So you would normally have to find Revive where ever it is or use the Pet Utility to revive your pet manually. Well with this macro you can hold shift when this happens and it will cast Revive Pet.
I use this macro before starting any combat and anytime my pets health starts to get low. It helps keep your threat low and ensures enemies start combat attacking your pet. I hope this helps :D
Edit: I Didn't realize Revive Pet would revert to Mend Pet inside a Macro... Fixed it though.

Based on my original macros. Vanilla initially targeted dead mobs which was a problem so I created the first macro and built on it. Later when targeting dead mobs was patched, I updated the macro to work well for kiting mobs - target mobs I couldn't see, then macro toggle to have pet passive to kite mob back to me. Glad it's still in service. The original Dredtaur and Nic (hunters).
