Noob Feral Druid Questions! LF matter of fact answers

Hi all!
I recently restored a druid that I first started over 2 years ago. I decided with the comeback that I would try out feral dps. So I have some questions with that! Keep in mind that I am a noob with the feral druid.
1) If you go feral spec, will people also expect you to be a Tank? I want to strictly just go cat form in raids but I don't want people to expect me to Tank instead.
2) What is the best thing to stack (gem wise)? I've heard crit or mastery but I want to get some other answers...
3) I've also heard to keep the DOT's on at all times and then spam shred. Is this true?
Thanks to all that answer!

1.) No. Dps and Tanking are two different specs now. They'll share some core talents, but if any raid leader asks you to tank, let him know you're not uncrittable and will take a ton of damage.
2.) Agility, agility, agility. Agility gives us attack power now and critical strike chance. All our bleed ticks have their own chance to crit on a tick by tick basis. Even for bears, it's considered better than the mindless stamina spamming from Wrath in most modes.
3.) Kitty isn't a rotation, it's a priority and keeping buffs up as often as you can. Basically get faerie fire up, keep mangle up, keep rake up, keep rip up, and keep savage roar up as much as you can. Use shred as your combo point generator, only raking and mangling when you need to refresh the debuffs.

1)

No, not usually. If someone asks, just say 'i don't/can't tank as i am not gemmed/enchanted/specced for it'. Once you're in a group, it probably won't come up, but I still occasionally get /w'd by random folks looking for a tank. It can be kind of hard to tell just by looking.
2)
What is the best thing to stack (gem wise)?
Delicate Inferno Ruby
in all sockets unless getting the socket bonus would result in an
equal or greater
amount of agility compared to using Inferno Rubies. For example, if an item has a blue socket and the bonus is +10 agility, then there's no reason to use a blue gem as you'll lose agility by not using the Inferno Ruby. On the other hand, if it's 2 sockets - one red and one yellow (or blue) with a bonus of +20 AGI, then getting the bonus would be fine by using an orange or purple gem with +20 AGI/+something else.
3)
I've also heard to keep the DOT's on at all times and then spam shred.
Sort of. Spamming shred isn't gonna be possible as energy regen is fairly low and the energy cost of shred is fairly high. Alundrei was good enough to make a writeup on Feral and the info it contains is accurate->

I am also a noob kitty druid and I pretty much have the same questions as you. However, can someone link a good talent tree for cat form. I am finding it hard to see the difference between cat vs bear. Thanks for the posts here.

I could argue that having 3/3 furor and 1/2 predatory strikes is silly as feral cat. But meh.

I get that extra point from Stampede for 1/2 and leave 2/2 Predatory Strikes.
