IF I would go destruction, that's what I would have, although I would switch out Improved Firebolt with Intensity.
Being destruction you'll want to have that resist to interrupt since most your spells will have a cast time.
You'll do more damage by having cast times not get interrupted on damage then have your lil imp cast a little bit faster.
