Opinions Wanted! ~ Paladin Class

Here is a list of the classes I've played to at least 60.

Preist (x3)
Warrior
Rogue
Hunter
Shaman

And classes I've played to or close to 40, and/or have little interest in.

Death Knight (meh)
Mage
Warlock
Druid

So the only thing I've not really tried yet is a paladin. Mainly because I spent most of my time on Horde and didn't have much choice until TBC, but I always thought I'd hate the class. Based on the lists above, likes and dislikes, do you guys think I would like playing paladin at 60+?

I like melee attacks a lot and I like being able to heal. But, ranged casting has gotten old. I would either tank in PvE or find some good spec for PvP. Either way, I'd like some opinions as to if you think I'd like the class closer to end game and what spec would be the most fun based on the above as well.

What specs were your shaman and warrior? If they are both DPS, a paladin may not be as interesting. But if you've tanked or healed, paladins have a pretty unique way of doing both. I find them better suited for solo survival, even though warrior tank's and shaman healer's DPS will generally be higher than yours if you choose any of those two paths.
