Pally Mage Combo

My wife's make is about to hit 60 and be caught up to my pally (that has been sitting at 61 for ages). We plan to level them up together.
I want to do a holy build, but one that will compliment her mage as best it can. I'm envisioning doing some AOE grinding, and healing in instances (esp with all the DK leveling up).
I looked around for a "holy leveling" build, but was unable to find much. Anyone got some pointers for me, both on a talent spec and play tips that might help out our combo?

Do you want to be good at healing, or have better damage? Basically a normal healing build but with Seals of the Pure instead of Spiritual Focus would be what I would suggest for leveling.

My own personal damage I'm not to worried about, I want to compliment her damage when questing and aoe'ing as much as possible. So, as good as I can be at healing, but making our little 2 man team as powerful as possible is higher priority.

Then maybe spec into Imp. Concentration Aura and Imp. BoW, those are the only buffs that holy would have for a mage. If you went ret you could get more group buffs, such as sanc. retribution, swift retribution, and replenishment, but those aren't much for leveling either.

Can you still effectively heal 5 mans as ret?
I was under the assumption that pallies didn't make very good off spec healers. My shadow priest can heal most 5 mans fairly easy, but its practically the same gear.

yes.
I would use a ret build. Ret/mage is a majorly powerful team. I'll link a build and explanation in a sec.

This is my suggestion. Since I, solo as ret, can easily aoe grind 6-7 mobs at a time, you can easily grind just as many or more with a mage to back you up. Your insane amount of burst will make grinding mobs a joke, and you will be able to maximize up time since you won't be draining the mage relying on the mage to do most of the aoe damage.
Ret's instant flash of light's are a major contributor to my favor of this build.
I also healed all instances from nexus up to normal HoL as ret. It is very possible, and very easy. The difference is, you use blessing of might to improve your spell power, and make sure you judge as often as you can, since that will be your mana returns from Judgement of the Wise.

If you want to heal as ret I would suggest using healing gear. Since JotW was nerfed I doubt judging would give a ret-geared paladin enough mana returns to heal an instance. If you want to avoid having 2 sets of gear, you could go holy, and just sacrifice the damage. Or you could DPS in the instance as ret, and find a healer.

Ok, so... about everyone's ideas: He's stated he doesn't care about his damage, and he wants to pretty much just keep her alive while helping her DPS with some sort of buff.
This is the build I would use.

You have talents in the Ret tree to reduce some of your mana usage, and to give your wife's mage more crit on your judged targets.
At 63 I would put 1 talent in Purifying power. I tend to cleanse a lot, in instances or world PvP... Especially with all the DK's around, those cleanses could save a life.
At 64 go into Judgements of the Pure, and then finish out the bottom of the tree. The rest of your points would be up to you, for your play style and needs.
Now, to help DPS as holy, a good trick is to use Divine favor, then Holy Shock the enemy, and give that instant flash heal to your wife's mage if she needs it. Always run with Concentration Aura, this will help the mage not be interrupted as much, even with the class being a kiting queen.
Also, with this build, you will have no problems healing any instances.
If you do choose to just spec Ret, and DPS and throw heals when she needs them, that's viable as well. But, make sure to have a full heal set, for instances. Ret can heal instances. I've done it for leveling through lvl 80.

In your situation, I'd probably be more enticed to go prot instead of holy.
that way you can tank a load of mobs, whilst your wife aoe's them down, would be faster exp imo.
Another advantage from going prot is being able to be a vital role in instances :)

Thanks for all the advice!
Eissy: I do enjoy tanking (a lot, actually) but, given that we are leveling up in an Outland's with a bunch of Lich King betraying hooligans, I opted to focus on being the healer instead of the tank.
Coldeath137: Thanks for your insight. Your suggestions are more or less what I settled on. I can effectivly-ish kill mobs solo when I need to, but my primary focus with this build is letting her blow stuff up and not ever having to worry about dieing. It's also a great for healing in instances, because I can increase the groups DPS as well as keep everyone alive.
I am a big proponent of doing everything you can for a group, not just your "role". IE, as a mage, I don't just consider myself dps/cc, I am also the guardian of the healer. Sometimes the tank is just to busy to grab those mobs off the healer, and he needs a frost nova to get out of trouble. So, being the healer in this case, I greatly enjoy getting up in the battle and whacking some mobs, and putting dps debuffs on the boss we are fight with ranged judgments.
Also, in response to what every one has said about me taking the damage and the mage just dps'ing, even with my holy spec I found I can tank normal quest mobs quite easily. I just use the threat buff, consecrate and spam judgement/holy shock, toss out some instant flash heals as needed, and let my wife blow stuff up (she loves seeing lots of numbers).
i think I've found my nitche.
Thanks again everyone.

What about shockadin?
Healer Gear + Holy/Ret Spec.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sVAbg0zhVzhxMZZVfMxbuzf
You can tweak some of the talent points to give her Imp BoW and Concentration Aura.
Looks fun, but not very applicable until I am closer to 80. I'll probably give it a try once I am in northrend.

Shockadin is dead. No more Sanctity Aura, Judgement/Seal SPH nerfed, and Holy Guidance offense nerfed.

Remember, throw RF on, and you can aoe tank as holy as well. Especially against normal mobs.
If you are set on holy, try to stick with plate if you can. Then you have her run around pulling mobs, and you aoe tank them while healing yourself. Keep concecration up, and you should be able to hold them on aggro while she kills em off and you keep yourself alive. As holy, I used to always aoe tank in AV. I would kill off the flag guards with ease while tanking 4-5 horde trying to guard their flag. This is even easier now with beacon if your party/bg is taking damage as well(altho, not as much now that we are waiting for pvp gear and seem to be really squishy atm).
If healing is your goal, go for it. You still have all the necessities to keep her alive, and can heal for a lot longer than as prot. Having a dps with you will make grinding way easier. I'm not a fan of solo holy grinding...

Glad I could help.
And, yes.. that is the spec I mainly heal in, due to the buff to my crit, and the DeBuff to the mobs and giving my party more crit.
And, to the Holy tanking... DO IT! It's so fun :D Pop Sacred Shield on yourself, Beacon on Mage, and start tanking all those mobs, grabbing them for her Blizzard. You'll take no damage, and when you do, you get to heal yourself, and her at the same time.
