Simple answer is the graphics card really is marginal even for a relatively low requirement game like WOW. You can try updating the video card drivers, cutting down the in game settings to minimal, and make sure the card/mebo/power supply are clean by opening the case and vacuuming /dusting well to resolve the issue, but it might never work properly.

This sounds alarming - do you just mean pixelated, as in lower resolution, or is there a heap of triangles and and spikes where the character should be? The latter is a result of your graphics card overheating or being broken. Make sure the graphics card and computer case fans are still working.
Also, get the latest drivers for your graphics card, with some luck it's just that.
