Price of S1 items

All am i right in saying that S3 and the Lich King are the same event ?

I keep reading how S1 items in PVP will drop in price once S3 arrives, but when is this ?

Was planning on getting S1 BG gear but if the honor price is about to drop I'll hold on..

Thanks for the education guys.

Another newbie question though - how do you know what is a S1, S2 or S3 item, it doesn't say in the item description does it ?, or is it just a case of noticing that items are now available in BG's when they weren't previously ?

From what I've heard (RumorCraft) S1 will no longer be available, S2 gear will take S1's current honor costs, S3 gear will take S2's current arena costs, and S4 gear will come out.

That would make sense. I like the idea of S1 gear for honor tbh. It evens the playing field for new players and players new to arena. Arena should be about skill and teamwork and class combos, not who's been playing longer.
