Actually, hunters get a pet at level 1 now, which will scale with the inflated stats that they might get from BoA gear. It's certainly possible at really low levels that this will inflate things quite a bit. Also, Hogger is in Elwyn forest (which starts at level 5), so it's really a straight run down one road to get to him from the human starting area.
Wow is pretty balanced at later levels, but a low level toon with full BOA's- especially since most toons wouldn't have anything in head, shoulder or trinket slots at those levels- makes the first 20 levels or so pretty trivial, especially if it's a pet class.
I personally, back in wrath, have tanked a level thirty instance on a level-appropriate frost mage because our tank left and we didn't want to wait. We recently had a level 78 monk who was soloing non-heroic WOTLK instances just to see if he could. A lot of people find ways to solo things they shouldn't be able to, and it is due to a combination of creative thinking, skilled playing and the fact that BoA's and changes to class mechanics often leave players overpowered in the content that was made before those changes and items came out.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

As for the OP, they're not boasts or exagerations, Hogger IS soloable at lvl 1 if you're decked from head to toe with enchanted heirlooms. I've seen him go down by rogues, pallys, hunters, and even warlocks. Its all about dem heirlooms. Currently there's Head+Shoulders+Chest+Legs+Cloak+Weapon+2 trinkets+Ring. All of these have stats that are at least 7 times more powerful than any gear you would otherwise get 10 levels forward. So no, this should not in any way surprise you.

Lol, I recently got banned coz I got my Rgoue to level 85 and was getting flight paths in kunlai summit when the Sha agro'ed on me and I Han solo'ed him. There was a GM watching and told I had to leave because professional players weren't allowed on my server, I said I'm not a professional and he said I should b with those moves and then he banned me be oz he didn't want other players seeing how good I was I've only been playing wow for a month and I'm that good at it it's boring now.

Back in WotLK you could twink a level 1, that could kill just about anything. It was when you could max out set stats. You was able to use level 80 shoulder enchant & helm. Also some level 80 enchants for weapons. That combined with BoA gear.. professions (engineering gloves) & level 80 potions, made them god mode.
Also other stuff.... but Blizzard soon put a stop to it all. Glitches also.
Mages got the best Glitches from Naxx in WotLK... they could solo Naxx, when it was current content.

I see lots of people that post claiming to do things that simply cannot be true.
By your account, many feats performed in WoW would be considered to be lies.
If you want to hear about something far more impressive than a lvl 1 beating the living snot out of Hogger, try to imagine a lvl 85 DK soloing Lich King 25HC...
You might be amazed at what people can achieve if they have the right set of skills, and put their mind to it...

Actually I was referring to some ppl from Maintankadin who did just that. They just weren't featured on the MMO-champion website. These are the same ppl that solo all but Majordomo and Raggie in Firelands at lvl 90 (last I heard, they could've done that by now)
