Problems With WoW
Return to board index
Hey people at WoW head. I'm new here, so I don't know exactly if this post belongs here, but its sorta a beginner question, so here it goes. Well, I got the game ( the original and BC). It got downloaded after a couple of tries (had some minor problems), and I made a player, entered the game, and the yellow text and the white entering channels text weren't there ( and I know that it should of been there from experience at a friends house). I also couldn't log off, so I had to CTR + ALT + DELETE out. I opened the game again and got on my player, but it still didn't work. So then I tried the repair button in the WoW folder, got on the game, still didn't work. Ive also tried many different things to fix it such as: turning off my firewall, uninstalling and reinstalling, completely shut off my security software, and they all did not work. I'm starting to get aggravated at this. If anyone knows how to fix this, please post them! Suggestions are also welcome! Thanks for the help!
Well the first method I can suggest is the all-to-obvious deleting of folders.
Go to your World of Warcraft directory.
Hold Control and click the WTF, Interface, and Cache folders; make sure they're all selected.
Hit Delete and click OK.
Right click "Wow.exe" and select Run as Administrator (assuming you're in Vista).
That should work, if not maybe it's just your settings. Try right clicking General and hitting Settings. Make sure 1. General and 3. LocalDefense are selected.
Thanks, I'll try this, but I'm on an XP at the time.
