Prot PVP Spec Lemme know what you think
Return to board index
This is a build for Prot PVP in battlegrounds and Arena.
Battlegrounds will be frustrating for any warrior spec unless you can find a personal healer.
You wont cleave much as there is very slight chance you get two melee classes peeling you. So Imp Cleave and all the points used are wasted arenawise. They might be usefull on Bg though.
Maxed shield spec is bad for the same reason as Cleave. You wont have 2 melee classes peeling you at arena and you wont parry/dodge/block so much at bg at all either (unless you wear tanking gear). I find shield spec pretty much pure pve ability.
You got thoughness, which for pvp count only as movement slowing time reduction (as players wont hit you as hard as raid bosses to justify the armor bonus). 5 talent points for 30% i dont find very good deal especially due to the Warbringer which removes them completely when you charge/intercept/intervene.
No last stand is Meh.
As prot you'll most likely find yourself chasing people spamming your Dev and Heroic strike (for additional burtst from Incite) while slowing, silencing and stunning them and waiting for shield slam proc. I find it wierd that you havent speced for these abilities.
Also Imp Disarm is extremly usefull while for you it seems to be a filler point.
As for glyphs. Enraged Regen is very meh glyph. If you arent healed from outside you will eventually die, you are only a warrior. Spellreflect may be usefull.
Lack of Devastate glyph is a fail. To dps properly you need to get full sunder asap.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve.
If your style is interference, I'd go for
. Piercing Howl is needed for keeping your victims close and Blood Craze is excellent considering how much health you're going to have. There's a few points you can move around, but that's mostly how I'd do it. Puncture can be dropped for something like Improved Intervene and one point from Shield Spec for Vigilance which would make you a healer's defender in a sense, perhaps even taking Glyph of Intervene. In that case, I'd aim for
as a pvp tank. Again, some talents can be moved (say one-handed specialization for anticipation), but these are personal choices at this point.
is what I'd do for a more damage-focused Prot PvP build (though damage is not the point imo).
