Purging comments

i'm new to this site, and i have noticed than nearly half of all comments have been purged, and a few days after i added a few comments, i found they too had been purged. what is the criteria for a comment to be purged? none of them that i noticed were offensive in any way, or gave incorrect information. is there just some random people out there going around purging any comments they feel like? that is rather rude, and if that is the case, i think the privledge to do so should be changed or something cause its just not fair to anyone- either the people who are taking time out of their lives to try to help people or those people who are seeking that help.

The comments you've made have been purged because they're not of a formal standard, you need to use proper grammar and refrain from using smileys, you'll get the hang of it eventually.
