Yea i know, you get 3% crit, but you also take 10% more damage.
Other than that, what else do you really get from zerker stance?
you dont really intercept much in raids,
you dont really need to pummel that often, rogues and prot wars can do the interupts. Occasionally maybe theres a specific fight where its needed, like shade of aran in KZ, but otherwise its not really important.
you also lose berzerkers rage. Most people i see dont spec in Imp Zerker rage, so really all it does is give you fear immunity, which is situational at best, and extra rage when you take damage, which you shouldnt be taking damage in the first place.
So you really only end up losing Whirlwind, which honestly will only ever hit 1 thing at a time when it matters. (AoE trash doesnt count as a time that matters). And sometimes you cant even use it at all, when theirs CC'd mobs around.
So then what do we gain from battle stance?
10% less damage, for those random aoe hits the whole raid takes, which happens quite a bit. Saving your healers mana.
Thunderclap, which while may not help you a whole lot, will allow the tanks to build better TPS since they wont have to do it. (only if you spec 3/3 into imp TC)
Overpower, which you could spec into improved of, and would help keep flurry up.
To me, it seems like it would end up being: Whats better, a 3% crit and 1/2 imp WW, or a 2/2 Imp Overpower. Because honestly, thats how you'd spec them if you were in those stances.
With average crit chances around 30% or higher in raids, you'd have over an 80% chance to crit on your overpowers. Which i think would more than compensate for a loss of 3% chance to crit overall.
Overpower has only a 6 seconds cooldown. Whirlwind 10 seconds. Now granted somethin has to dodge to use overpower, so lets say they end up being around the same, 10 seconds for each.
Overpower is 5 rage, Whirlwind is 25 rage.
Overpower with 2/2 improved, gives weapon damage +35 and a 50% increased chance to crit. Whirlwind is weapon damage from both melee weapons. So its sort of like a guarenteed crit, which can also crit.
You'd definately have a lot more rage, to use heroic strikes with if you used Overpower instead of whirlwind. Also the T5 2 piece set bonus would have value. Plus you have to remember you cant always use whirlwind, cause it could break CC's. You can always use an overpower.
Has anyone ever actually tried it? http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LN0cdhbZVV0VxxRVuVo
