Paladin isn't my class and the lack of clarity of your post has nothing to do with what class one plays. For somebody that wrote a guild on asking questions in a forum you should know the difference between a helpful post and an unhelpful one.
I think my post was clear enough, since you seem to understand the gist of it seeing as how you stated "You even stated that depending on what type of weapon you use should determine what type of seal you use."
add to that, my post answered your post, just because you disagree with it doesn't mean that it's not helpful
Interesting comparison but why are you comparing a 1h vs a 2h using the same seal? You even stated that depending on what type of weapon you use should determine what type of seal you use.
because as ret, alliance, SoC is the best DPS seal, there's no argument there
aince as ret you don't stack spell damage, it's not reasonable to compare SoC to SoR or SoV for DPS
SoR has base 25 DPS
You have to stack 10000 spell damage to bring that up to 1k DPS
Even with my very limited experience with SoV I know that most of it's damage comes on the stacking which is not effected by the weapon damage or ap but spell damage.
yes, but it's not a ret DPS seal, it stacks less than SoR so you'd have to stack even more spell damage to reach raid viable DPS
So the faster one applies the stacks and the more often one crits the more often you will max damage through vengeance proc.
it's a PPM determined chance, meaning that slower weapons have a better application chance, more often than not, with a fast weapon, the first couple hits will not proc SoV
at 3.00 sec swinger, SoV is a 100% proc chance seal
at 1.50 sec swinger, SoV is a 50% proc chance seal
to make it stack faster, the best option is to use a slow weapon.
With the majority of vengeance procs coming through weapon crit strikes it is less likely that you will reach the max 3 stacks using a 2h weapon then a 1h (~8 swings 2h, 10-18 with 1h per 30 sec). Comparing this to a 2h with SoC would be a proper comparison.
you are confusing the paladin talent "Vengeance
" with "Seal of Vengeance
" this proves you have no idea what you're taking about.
also, most of a ret paladin's crits will come from judgements rather than auto attacks or seals due to fanaticism
Thank you for the rest of your post though, much more informative. If he burns through mana as quickly as you say he may find that he should just use a 2h with the standard ret build like I originally told him.
you are still confusing paladin terminology
shockadin is not a ret spec
they are 2 different things, one being a offensive holy build and one being a ret DPS build
