Normally I go enh, so this is from an inexperienced ele shammy.

That's my build. I'm not a pro elemental shaman, but some things there make sense. You've got a consistent cooldown-dropping effect on elemental mastery, instant ghost wolf and bonus movement speed, stoneclaw totem absorb effect, etc. The only thing I'm unsure about is how much hit you'll need, I used the spirit -> hit talent as a filler, partially because I know you need little hit (4%) but have no idea how much spirit you'll get.

About the melee: You're not going to try to, but in PVP, you're often forced to. Especially if your Ele (think Dk's Death Grip/Warriors Charge/etc-- players see an ele shammy and pop those instantly). So it could be beneficial as you "joust" away (and yes, I did just use a Hunter term there ;) )

Not really. Caster weapon dps got nerfed. They do 45 dps I think. Plus, the melee swing timer is reset on the cast of a spell with cast time.
