I'll give it a shot.
I started my wow with a year on a PVP server, playing alliance, then another year on another PVP server as horde. There was ganking and corpse camping and all that, but I also got to participate in the huge zerg fests between Southshore and Tarren Mill.
Other nights we would hang out as a group in Gadgetzan or Everlook, ganking some lowbies until they got mad, changed to their highlvls and called in some friends. Two groups of 8-10 players each having a staring/taunting contest in Gadgetzan until suddenly one side attack the most provoking guy on the other side, a big fight broke out and the Gadgetzan bruisers ended up killing us. Ress, eat, repair, back to start a new staring/taunting contest..
On rare occasions when questing I got to fight another guy at similar level to me. Most of the time the level difference was a bit big and it ended up just one guy pwning a helpless opponent. That normally resulted in what was called "highlvl echo", meaning that if you killed a 25 with your 32, you had to expect to fight a lvl 60 moments later. Most of the time, the lowbie fights ended up resulting in both players getting their 60's and slugging it out..
I used to love being on a PVP server, until the time that I rerolled on a new server with some friends of mine and we got into questing and running instances bigtime, it was just annoying as hell being ganked and camped time and again without having a highlvl main to settle the score. We moved to a PVE realm and tbh I've never regretted that..

It's real fun to be able to turn the questing a side for awhile to run around for some world pvp, sure I've been corpse camped alot together on all my chars by high lvls but the feeling of sweet revenge when u kill them ugly gnomes cant be described in words :P
And after getting some of our chars to 80 and some pvp gear it's pice a cake to go on Gank-About in the area ur alt is getting camped in ^^

PVP servers and PVE servers are no different in my experience. People still fag out over raids MORE than PVP.
Only since cross BG. Back in time PvP servers were much more pvp active (TM/SS... the good old time).

In PvP server I can punish player who pulled a quest mob before me. Or I can punish him for rolling alliance. /thread
