Q: Refreshing DoTs (Shadow) / Random
Return to board index
Okay, so I've got a question.
I am assuming that a DoT's power is based off whatever your current Spellpower is
the moment you begin casting
a spell. Is that correct?
Or, if a trinket procs while you are mid-cast, will a DoT still benefit from that? (I think not, but I wanted to make sure)
I am attempting to min/max and tighten up my technique for topped damage at all times.
Also, any special tips on how the new, 5.2 changes are going to affect what we do?
Elegon is going to be tougher, with the changes to Mind-Spike/Mind-Blast. I pretty much depend upon that (including a critted Mind Blast) to get my orb down.
I believe that the second the spell is cast is when it factors in spellpower, because thats also when it factors hit
What i do to easily get down my orb in Elegon Vampiric Touch and Shadow Word: Pain it, then follow with Mind Blast and Mind Flaying it down the rest of the way, I learned about the Mind Spike Glyph Glitch too late to have any advantage with it
Under the new version, I would thin that orbs are suited for MS spam with MB added in whenever you can cast it instant.
The Dot's you put on a target will be based on your stats at the time of cast for the duration.
Even if a buff falls off during the ticks it will remain and vice-verse, if a proc occurs you need to re-cast the DoT to benefit from it.
