I'm a lvl 38 affliction spec and I obtained the Illusionary Rod from a SM run.

Which would you choose for me and please tell me why.

The best way to go about this is twofold. If you are Destruction go with the Illusionary rod, the critical strik is nice for that spec.
Everything else go the other staff as the boost to shadow spells is hard to come by at that level.
