Not really as you will be using other tracking options that you gain in higher levels. I recommend going Night Elf and getting Shadowmeld

It's much more useful for rogues, since it allows you to spot footlockers easily (to train your lockpicking ability).
Hunters probably prefer to keep a different type of tracking active most of the time, wether it's track hidden (to cut down on getting ganked by stealth users) or track minerals (for mining profession), or one of the other hunter tracking abilities if you want to grind on a particular type of mob...
