Raid makeup

As a member of a lvling guild , we have decidered that we would like to start raiding. So what I was wondering is what is a good class combonation for 10 man?

As a rule of thumb, you should consider in this order:

1. people who know how to maximize their class's abilities.
2. a good combination of melee and casters (2 melee, 3 casters, or 3 melee, 2 casters), 2 tanks and 3 healers.
3. class composition should consider buffs, cleansing, and special abilites such as blood lust.

The first one is most important, and if you have it right, it compensates for a relatively low class diversity.

Your Hunter should never be BM.

Survival is so so so so much better than BM, that any buff he brings is not worth it. The *only* possible exception would be Bloodlust, but it's unlikely that you will have no Shaman OR Mage.

Also not all fights require that makeup, some "require" maybe a little more melee/ranged/heals. Just be sure to have some other people on standby to make switches just in case you want to try something different in a fight.

Many people have offspecs though, so the raid members can just switch specs depending on the fight (at least 1 tank and 1 healer with a dps offspec is superb)
