Ok, so, currently, I'm
this spec.
Im pulling 2200 dps on a raid boss. But i read the talent sticky and it said that affliction is the best spec. Sooo, is it? My armory is in my link, switch out the fuselighter with a 74 hit trinket and you have my gear for raids. Anyway, can someone get back to be on this?
EDIT: Ok, I am definatly not going affliction. Went and tested the fel guard/destro spec on the boss dummy, with just my buffs, including firestone, i was sustaining 2k dps. With
this
, i could barely sustain 1700 dps. Im not sure if i was doing something wrong, but for me, affliction is definatly not the way to go. (btw, with the affliction spec, i was using spellstone)
EDIT: Ok, i lied. I messed up. I went and tried a frineds rotation, and it was getting me to 2200 dps with just perdonal buffs. So, looks like im staying affliction. Which is fine, cause its Onyxia soloing time.

with this build i suggest you take away fg and put the point in the extra crit bonus in destro and spec it for the imp because of raid buff and increased fire damage pretty much the same build i use except that.

while the difference on a target dummy isn't huge between a FG and ip, there is a difference and that gap widens significantly in a raid when the FG gets melee buffs.
that one point in demo makes a big difference and overlooking it would be a mistake.

Aff is better at the current lvl of gear. Dps spreadsheets dont lie.

they don't lie but they don't get all the details right. there's still an awful lot of theorycraft to be done before we fully understand a lot of the formulae behind the game. also, spreadsheets can't factor in real situations. all theorycraft needs to be tempered with a dose of reality.
i'm really enjoying affliction and i'm getting some excellent results but it's simply too early and too presumptive to say "aff is king, i'm right, you're all wrong!"
