Hey guys, I play a rogue and wondering what would be a good formation for a RBG group. I know dot cleaves are very popular right now, but I would like to create an RBG group that my rogue can play in, yet still get a decent rating.
I was thinking a mix of these classes for 10m RBGs:
3 sub rogues to sit on each of the enemy healers
1 H pally
1 Disc priest
1 Resto Shammy
1 Blood Dk
1 fire mage
1 boomkin
1 hunter
Tell me what you think of this comp.
More info:
My idea around this formation is that the team would first try to wipe the other team at the start. This would be done by the 3 rogues having picked out a healer to focus (Bg targets). The group would then focus one healer at a time as they are called.
The blood dk is supposed to lay down their AoE for friendly healers to run through to peel off themselves, to deathgrip, chains of ice, off enemy players - also to be the FC.
The mage, boomkin, and hunter are for range burst, as range can switch to a focus faster than a melee would be able to - these class are also all bursty.
The mix of healers is just for what each of them bring. Totems, buffs, and the H pally's 2nd bubble for another friendly healer.
Once we wipe them, we would push them to the GY as the blood dk runs the flag.

Blood DK's are the second worst FC due to low mobility and lower survivability/utility than Warriors. Hunters are pretty awful for RBG's. You should have at least one Frost DK. Three Rogues is entirely unnecessary, and sitting healers makes them un-CC able.
Right now the best comp runs something like:
1. Resto Shaman
2. Discipline Priest
3. Holy Paladin
4. Protection Warrior
5. Frost Death Knight
6. Subtlety Rogue
7. Shadow Priest
8. Fire Mage
9. Balance Druid
10. Affliction Warlock

Lower survivability is just wrong. Mobility on the other hand, their mobility is garbage.
The two are ridiculously linked. And a Blood DK's survivability is entirely dependent on Death Strike, which is never going to reliably go off due to the lack of mobility, and AMS is their only real perk.
I've Blood Tanked RBG's up to a 1900 level and the inability to get out of sticky situations in the way a Prot Warrior can makes you feel much much squisher.

Anyone mind elaborating on the duties each class has? Especially what the job of the Sub rogue is.

Well the first three probably heal, the Prot Warrior will probably carry the flag and the rest will kill others. They all will probably use some form of CC to make it easier to kill someone.
Something like PvP makes it hard to specify what each role will be doing as so many different things can happen. Much different from PvE where you know what the boss will do and what you should do in return.
Whoever is in charge needs to know how to run a group in a BG and be able to give directions effectively. Most DPS will probably be told to target enemy healers as well as some will have to peal for their healers. One or two healers will be on the FC if they need the healing, if not they will help the third healer keep the rest of the group alive.
