Resto druid/lock vs Lock/rogue
Return to board index
Hi, I've been doing 2's quite a bit this season, doing ok, started at 0 last week and got to 1650 last night. I'm a resto druid, my partner a affliction lock. So we don't really steamroll anybody, it's a slower process of waiting for them to make a mistake and then capitalizing on it. But I digress, we lost to the same combo last night 7 times, one team 4 times then 3 different teams. They don't even need to sap us, they just blow one of us up, doesn't matter who they go after, if it's me, i get aoe stunned, kidneyshot, feared then i'm dead. If it's my partner, i try to go prehotted for both of us, then get an instant cyclone on the rogue. But it's pretty much over within 15 sec with me weeping or swearing at the screen. Help please!
Anybody who plays as a ina lock/rogue combo please give me some tips on how to beat you :)

First off, Zeph, your signature makes me all puffy down there!
In regards to the OP, I play on the rogue/lock side of the fence and our entire comp relies on blowing up the competition in the first 30 seconds of a match, out last that and you already have the advantage.
In the opening of the match you have 2 real options. You can be in tree form to avoid the sap (though I know it opens you to banish), and have your lock engage the opposing lock asap to get into combat. Otherwise, try and stay out of LoS of the opposing lock and wait for the rouge to pop. Once the rogue pops, regardless of who he pops on, your lock's succy is going to save the day here, seduce that lil effer until its on DR or until he trinkets, at which point, cyclone, cyclone, cyclone.
You've effectively removed 1/2 of the comp for the entire match, which is what the rogue/lock was attempting to do to you. While cc chaining the rogue, have your lock load up as many dots as he's able on the enemy lock, keeping in mind that he's no healer, he won't last too long.
Another thing to remember, your comp is the king of all pillar humpers, even if your lock is only able to get CoA and Corr off on an enemy before he has to LoS a chaos bolt, that's damage you're doing to someone w/o a healer that they're unable to do.
Coordinated CCs and Pillar Humping are where your comp will really shine (that and resto druids are goddamn raid bosses), these are your HUGE advantages and you need to capitalize on them.
Oh, one other thing, if you're running into the same comp over and over, and they seem to be wiping the floor with your lock, feel free to have him pop Demon Armor, as it will make all of his incoming heals at least 20% more effective making your job much easier, sure, he'll lose some overall damage, but yours isn't a comp that relies on burst and the longer these battles go on, the more they start tipping in your favor.
Wall of text crits for 1.5 million, but it doesn't matter because you're a goddamn raid boss! =D
