Competant druid raid healing is far harder than any healing I've ever had to do on a priest. But thats just my opinion as an ex naxx healer.

I actually have an extremely easy time healing, tanking, or just being feral because you'll find as you level if you solo most things, you will learn to heal and use your abilities. I recommend pugs for instances (pick unknown group) because you'll usually get people who don't know what they're doing and you can practice heals in an unpredictable, wipe prone, setting.
I recommend going feral for leveling, you can still do the healing and whatnot, I was healer most of the time anyway, and then go resto at 68. Druids are by far the best heal over time class. They are a great assest to any large raid guild because they give the other healers extra mana by slowing the damage taken. I hardly ever run completely out of mana during a pull or a boss, I use innervate, a good pot, and then drink inbetween. Very fun class.

All healing classes are hybrids if you think about it:
Druids: Different forms
Priest: Shadow
Shammies: Elemental / Enchantment
Pallies: Protection / DPS
To me it was worth the time. I played all the above classes as healers at level 60 prior to the expansion and I have to say that a Druid is still the most fun just because you can HoT and forget about it. All the other classes require lots of Intellect and +Healing to be very effective while Druids just need MP5 and + Healing. On top we get Inter :P Free mana regen every 6 minutes. What's not to love about that :P
