Should I just wait till 80 to go restoration or could I go restoration now? My shaman is the only class I got that can heal and it's nice to do something different. With lava burst I'd assume it's not so bad. I'm not looking to level fast or anything just seeing if it's bearable. I'm about 3/4 full at level 75.

Never level Resto - it's horrible and it will only delay you getting to 80 when it actually becomes fun.

I'm leveling resto, and I find it fun, it's incredibly slow but I like doing instances and not being able to die

I lvled from 71 to 80 as resto, and I wouldn't recommend it.
I was lucky enough to have a protection specced warrior friend that farmed instances with me every day. So it went relatively quickly, but still, questing solo is by far the fastest way.
If you like doing instances and healing a lot, then go for it, spec resto and you'll never have trouble looking for a group again.

Level 75 is when you get lava burst, a very good spell. I would go elemental up to 80 then respec to resto if you wish.

I went to Ele at 75 and it was really nice, even in a lot of resto gear.
If you haven't glyphed, get the glyph of flametongue weapon and glyph of Flame Shock. They're low level inscriptions, and shouldn't cost you anything at all, so you won't care if you have to overwrite them.

Lvled 70-80 resto too. Slow but still fun. Never had to wait for someone to find healer for instances and since tanks got buffed thats was not an issue either.
Still, I´d propably recommend what others are saying; lvl elemental and if u have huge plans of healing at 80 pick resto gear at last lvl quests.
