just wondered wot ppl thought of my spec as a retro healing pally, i find ppl always assume that im or all pallys are tank/dps, ive had no trouble gettin my crit rating up and as a main healer in 5 man instance have done well, only had a few deaths mainly myself, always forget heal myself, abviously not gonna stand much hope as a main healer in 10/25 man instances or raids, but as a secondary healer i'd do pretty well, my question is am i wasting my toon?,

The only role I can think of in a raid instance is heal tanking 4 horsemen. When you are leveling with your ret heals, it will seem impressive, but when you get serious with holy pally, you are still far away, mainly because you lack the mana pool. Holy pallies usualy have 20k mana pool therefore double the mana regen from Divine Plea.
As for secondary healers, boomkins, shadow priest, and elemental shamans far out class ret pallies with art of war and sheathed in light. Again, they specialize in mana pool and spell power, so they would likely switch to secondary heals rather then pallies, fereal druids, and enhance shamans.
