Rogue End-Game Professions: Eng or LW?
Return to board index
As a rogue, I thought I might level engineering to provide some means of AoE with the bombs. I leveled it high enough until it allowed me to pick up Gnomish Engineering, which I thought would come in handy because of the trinkets. So here I am sitting at level 281 Engineering and 289 Mining. I've started debating with myself on whether or not I should drop both professions and start leveling Leatherworking and Skinning for the end-game gear. Now, I've heard many different opinions, varying from ''Engineering gives you goggles and trinkets that help a lot.'' to things like ''You can make more money off selling armor kits as a leatherworker, and you get things like the Primal Strike set.'' - Both being valid arguments, I stand here dazed and confused, still wondering on which would be a better choice for end-game and beyond.
Can anyone help out a poor rogue? =) Thanks for the feedback!!
well, would you prefer primalstrike set and leatherworking drums? or the engineering helm, along with various bombs and gadgets?
it's really up to personal preference, both are great for rogues. though if you have jumper cables and you're the only person alive, it can save a lot of time if they work.
use wowhead and look through the end game items that engineering/leatherworking offer, and pick what you'd like to have.
I figured that it would pretty much be based off opinionated ideas. The different responses I got when I asked around made that obvious. My 70 Hunter has 375 Engineering, and she has the goggles and trinkets and all, but it's for sure a big pain to level. Mining is nice to gather and sell the ore for gold though. So you have your recreational profession, and then the money-making half.
Thanks again for the feedback! =D
Primalstrike used to be cool, it's still ok if you haven't got any real raiding gear, but s1 chest isn't so much worse and Vindicator's belt and Bracers outright blow Primalstrike away...
