Room for Ret endgame?

I just got back into playing since about mid-BC and my question is this.......
Are any of you finding it difficult to get into any raiding guild as a Ret spec'd paladin? Are they overwhelming in numbers? Between a DK, Warrior, Shaman, and my Paladin, I find Ret in both PvP and PvE to be the most fun experience for me.
I am both an Engineer and a Blacksmith and was going to use the AH to get the dps Titansteel set as well as the Titansteel 2H mace to get me started in the right direction, as well as the Engineering dps goggles. I figured this would more than make me ready for Heroics and entry level 10 man raiding.
