I must be one major clumsy oaf... I am really trying to "perfect" the Sap followed by Pickpocket but I seem to always piss the target off and come out of stealth. Any guesses as to what I might be doing wrong?? Not Standing on my head, Nope. Not /Dancing, nope.. Not Singing, nope - just get within what I think is melee range and >Backfire< almost every time. Needing a tip or two - TIA . z

Pick Pocket Resists drive me up the wall. Makes me furious.

I had max lockpicking every level until 70, how? Try this....
/cast Pick Pocket
/cast Ambush
Make 3 of those each with the 3 openers.
How to stop the resist? 1 rule
1. Non elite mob's your level.
If you are going into an instance take two seconds to prepare and replace your macro openers with the normal openers. Second, generally fighting mob's higher level then you isn't worth it anyway, compare the XP from one your exact level to the same mob 3 levels higher, how much longer does it take you to kill that mob? Exactly, not worth it, game was designed for you to fight stuff your level, Defense/Weapon skill is ten times more effective/uneffictive, against mob's then players. Don't believe me? Wowwiki.com, look up defense and weapon skill, its in there.
Oh and one more thing, with that macro, no more need to waste energy and time on sap, just distract him so you can get close. Same resistance against yourlevel/moblevel whether sapped or not. Sap is for when there are mutiples and you need to disable one, or of course, in instances when you need that extra cc.

Sorry, what does lockpicking have to do with pickpocketing/ambushing? I'm guessing you mean that it got you lockboxes to pick??? Just trying to clarify to help your post out :D

That is what vanish is for, since vanish works ALL the time. I have had success with it in this case though.

On the original question and thread - Since most of my characters use ranged weapons, Right Clicking was not a wise option - rather I have gotten into the habit of using the 'T' key to target my enemy, reading what they are , then either throwing or shooting. What I have since learned from trial and error and from the above posts, is that if I hit the 'T' key twice, first time to "attack" the target, second time to leave the target selected, but NO LONGER in attack mode, I can now sap, pick-pocket and walk off any time I wish. Thanks for all of the help. z
